Human albinism

Human eye. Rare case of complete lack of pigment, the eyes appear rather purple (red) than the usual blue or grey.

In another than the so called "Caucasian race" the look of person with albinism is very strange (probably only in my bigoted opinion of backyard European). I never have seen or even thought how these people look.

The albinistic people generally have pale skin, blond hair and light colour eyes. The eyes occasionally appear red due to the underlying retinal blood vessels showing through where there is not enough pigment to cover them. In humans this is rarely the case, as the human eye is quite large and thus produces enough pigment to lend opacity to the eye. However, there are cases in which the eyes of an albinistic person appear red or purple, depending on the amount of pigment present.

(My personal opinion is that albino is one of the prettiest colour variations)

    i think albinos are sooo cool and people should not ever tease them its not their fault thats what they look like and i would absolutely love pink or really blue eyes!!!

    I think Albinos are amazing. Its so cool. People mean to them are stupid to be cruel to something different. I have seen an albino out at my school and she is one of the most beautiful girl's I have ever seen.

    Albinos are amazing, and unique. At our school, there is a pair of twin albinos. They have pigment in their eyes though.

    My mother once knew an albino fireman. His wife and her family was so mean to him. However he was a sweetheart of a man. I also saw an albino little boy too. He was a shy cutey.

    I wish i was an albino! It would be awesome to have a pair of beautiful red eyes! Maybe to show off or to freak my friends out. Albinos are totally cool and they are normal people like you and me

    my eyes are raelly bright blue, but im not albino, i am extremely pale but i have brunnete hair. my eyes are beautiful aqua blue with little green rings around the pupils.

    I'm an albino, it is something I wish I could change. I have very hard time with my vision, especially in bright light I suffer from Retnal Albinism (I think), my eyes look purple, my skin is pale and burns very easily, sunlight is painful on my skin and eyes. People at my school do not understand that I cannot go into the sunlight on very bright days.

    I have little to np pigment in my eyes.

    Albino's are awesome and beautiful. My best friend is an Albino and people make fun of her for it, and me for being "the friend of a freak." Honestly, I dont understand why people are so cruel to people just because they look or act different.

    Dude! Albinos are freaking AWESOME! White hair I think is gorgeous and red eyes...I'd look like a vampire! Think about it--white skin and red eyes...If you're a real TwiHard you'd LUV being albino! I almost wish I was! :)

    most of you people are saying albino's care cool and awesome because of how they look.

    most of you albino people (so sorry if thats offensive i dont know the right term) say you want to change.

    well i'm sorry(really, i am! ), but you can't change it. but look around. there are still many people who think your beautiful, and nice.

    and there are still small things that might help you.

    for the eye problem, you can get different color contacts.

    for the hair color, just dye your hair!

    i dont know about skin. the best i can say is keep it.

    i love albino's because not only are they beautiful, but because they put up with life with the cruel bastards that make fun of them. i admire them.

    there my inspiration to live.

    Everyone out there who is albino i hope you are okay. i care for you. I care about albino's so much, i have started a petition saying people shouldn't make fun of you, and they should make it against the law to make fun of you.
